Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) was established in 1961 to regulate the profession of accountancy in the Country. It is a statutory autonomous body established under the Chartered Accountants Ordinance 1961. ICAP is a member of: International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) Confederation of a Asian & Pacific Accountants (CAPA) South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA)

ELIGIBILITY

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate with minimum 50% marks.
  • ‘A’ Levels with minimum two passes, or equivalent qualification.
  • Graduates with minimum 45% marks.

 Exemption from AFC

Bright and intelligent students are encouraged to pursue CA profession after claiming specific exemptions available to them. Exemptions are allowed from specific papers foundation level subject to matching of 70% course contents of relevant paper(s) in which exemption is claimed.

Exemptions from specific papers A1, A2 and B3

  • HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having not less than 60% marks in the relevant papers. If a candidate fulfills these two conditions, he/she can apply for exemption if at least 75% marks are scored in the relevant papers in which exemption is claimed.
  • A’ levels candidates with minimum tow Bs on overall basis but not less than C grade in relevant papers can apply for exemption if minimum B grade is scored in the relevant subject in which exemption is claimed.
  • Graduates (2/3 years) with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having not less than 60% marks in the relevant papers can apply for exemptions if minimum 75% marks are scored in the relevant subject in which exemption is claimed.
  • Graduates with honors and post graduates with minimum 70% marks in the relevant papers can apply for exemption.

Exemption from Coaching Classes of Papers A1, A2, B3

  • HSSC/Intermediates with minimum 70% marks in aggregate and having scored at least 60% marks in the relevant papers need no to attend coaching classes.
  • A’ Levels with minimum two Bs on overall basis and having scored minimum Cs in relevant papers needs not to attend coaching classes.
